Qum is built so that your prayer life stays yours. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no tracking. Almost everything the app knows about you never leaves your phone.

Information we do not collect

Qum does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or date of birth. There is no account to create and no profile stored on any server we control.

We do not use advertising networks, analytics SDKs or trackers, and we do not sell or share personal information with anyone.

Information stored on your device

The following stays on your phone, inside the app's private storage, and is removed when you delete the app:

• Your chosen location, calculation method and madhab
• Which prayers you have enabled
• The dismiss codes you register, and the names you give them
• Your prayer log — which alarms you dismissed, when, and how — used to calculate your streak and statistics
• Whether Away mode is on and when it expires

We cannot see any of this and it is never uploaded to us.

Location

If you tap "Use my current location", Qum asks iOS for a single location fix and uses it on your device to calculate accurate prayer times.

Your coordinates are stored only in the app's local settings. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party, and Qum does not track your location in the background.

You can decline this permission and choose a city manually instead — the app works fully either way.

Camera

Qum uses the camera to scan the QR codes and barcodes you register as dismiss codes. Scanning happens entirely on your device.

No photo or video is recorded, stored, or transmitted. Only the decoded text value of a code you deliberately register is saved, and only on your phone.
